About Leah

I am a second year graduate student at the University of Michigan, studying landscape architecture. In whatever spare time I can find, I enjoy being outside, playing ultimate frisbee, reading, grabbing food with friends, and making chocolate chip pancakes.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design and sustainability from Goshen College in Goshen, IN. My experience there offered me two opportunities for cross cultural learning in Ecuador and India, both of which I cherish still. I also had the opportunity to live and learn at Merry Lea Environmental Center which is where my sustainability interest stems from. Afterwards I was able to team up with Merry Lea again for my senior year internship.
I grew up in a rural Ohio town where every summer we would have a number of gardens and I would watch my dad and grandpa come back with wagons of sweet corn for us to shuck. My place in Ohio is where my love for plants and taking care of our world came from and I am happy to call it home.
