Landscape Architecture Portfolio
This class offered a lot of great opportunities to collaborate with a couple different organizations. For this specific project, we partnered with the Matthaei Botanical Garden. They asked us to come up with designs for a transition space between two designed gardens. A few of the requirements included; at least one Xanthocyparis nookatensis (Weeping Cypress), it needed to be low maintenance, and had to be a design that didn't take attention away from the other gardens.

Planting Design

Project Snapshots

Obviously I learned quite a bit about plants and the process of planning to plant them. Aside from the curriculum, I learned quite a bit about my own iterative process. I feel better about how I need to start projects, in a way that isn't overwhelming or that creates unnecessary work.
Tasks learned in this project:
- Planting schedule
- Comprehensive bloom chart
- Plant selection
- Graphic layout
